Local playtime is stored directly on the console. Only the main user of the profile can view it. This data is not automatically synchronized with Sony’s servers.

This limitation drives some players to use third-party services that aggregate trophy data to estimate overall playtime. These tools remain approximate, as they are based on the average duration of trophy acquisition and not on the actual time spent playing.
To achieve the most accurate tracking possible on PS4, the best combination remains to check the internal counter of the game when it exists, to supplement with the PlayStation Family app for family profiles, and to accept that the time displayed on the online profile will always be a high estimate. The PS4 was not designed for this fine tracking, but by cross-referencing these sources, you get a fairly accurate picture of your actual play hours.
